The emerald ash borer is a beetle that feeds on ash trees. Females lay eggs in bark crevices on ash trees, and larvae feed underneath the bark of ash trees to emerge as adults in one to two years. These insects are fatal and will kill your ash trees if you don’t treat them. See some images below on what to look for if you suspect Emerald Ash Borer.
Treatment for Emerald Ash Borer is accomplished with the injectors that are placed around the base of an ash tree. These injectors are used to inject a product called Arbormectin which is a formulation of Emmamectin Benzoate used to kill the larvae and adults of Emerald Ash Borer. Treatment with this product has been shown to be very effective in university trials.
